Blind Man

sample imageMy first adult experience with the ADC was with a blind man. It was my re-introduction to the spirit of a friend who had passed away that year.

I had Doctors who were telling me that my memory loss was a form of 'denial.' Some of the professionals felt I had buried memories of a friend who had died in an effort to spare myself from the weight of the grief associated with the loss.

My retrograde amnesia was after a 'near death experience.' The mystery of the afterlife visit was buried as well - after I woke up in recovery. My entire personal life history was buried in my subconscious so my life's history was more of a profound mystery to my mind - than the eternal realm I had a slight memory of during the 'near death experience.' My family were virtual strangers to me. I didn't know my own name. Slight memories came back as I progressed in my recovery. My Doctors told me that my 'subconscious' intelligence had a 'mind' of its own. I mixed that into with my slight memory of 'being a ghost' hovering outside my body. I could recall "vague" recollections of my spirit traveling to a realm of light beyond this physical world. When I returned, I felt my 'spirit' had a mind of its own with an intelligence far superior than my own. I identified my spirit as a 'different entity' than my 'human' mind and body (as far as dealing with 'knowledge' and understanding.) It was as if my 'own spirit' was something of an 'angel' to me while I was in the human body. I struggled with this deeper sense of understanding as I struggled to go on with my young adult life.

I had a job and went right back to work. My memories would return to me as needed.
I worked in restaurant which had two musicians as entertainers during the evening. One of them was a blind piano player. One evening Rick called me to him. He said he had a secret he wanted to share with me. I asked him what it was and he told me,

"I can see you. I can see you and your friend. He is standing next to you."

I looked to my side and didn't see anyone standing next to me. I felt he was trying to entertain me and get me in a good mood. I was the assistant manager at the time and a part of my job was to decide when the establishment was slow enough for him to retire for the evening. I felt he was leading me to some joke that would put me in a good mood before he asked to be let go for the evening. The place was packed so I didn't feel he was going to get anywhere with his joke.

"I can prove it to you. Hold up a number of fingers and I will tell you how many you are holding up."

I told him I was going along with it - but - I didn't hold up any fingers. He started laughing and told me,

"You don't have any fingers up yet. You're trying to take advantage of a blind man. Go ahead and hold up some fingers so I can prove it to you."

I was slightly amazed about this. I thought maybe someone was hiding around a corner and tapping sounds. I knew he had an acute sense of hearing. I looked around to be sure we were alone in our conversation. I started holding up fingers and he was able to correctly tell me the number each time. I got excited and ran off to tell some of my other co-workers. Apparently, we had done this sort of thing prior to my amnesia. We had showed them this same thing before. I had no memory of the ability to make a blind me see - before - so I was totally amazed by it. Rick told me,

“It is your friend. He wants me to pass on a message and give you back something you gave me to hold on to for you."

I asked him what it was. Rick told me,

"The ability to see your friend again, - as I can see him."

Rick took my hand and held it while he told me to turn around and look behind me. Rick told me,

"Don't be afraid of what you’re about to see. It was natural for you before your accident. You told me to give this part of you back to you in case anything happened to make you forget how to see like you used to."

I looked and saw a 'vision' similar to the photo on this page: a white glowing figure of light with a humanoid shape. I was in total awe of the majestic beauty that shinned and radiated outwards. I gasped in awe of this sight as Rick said,

"This is your friend. He is dead to the world - but he is not dead to you. He is going to be like an 'angel' to you for awhile - until you can adjust to the world again."

This was my introduction to the 'spirit' of a friend who was with me 'in spirit' for the next four years of my young life. I had many various encounters with this 'departed friend' through visions, dreams and very vivid contact on a physical level. This experience led to many other experiences with 'departed spirits.' From 1977 to 1981, I had five very close friends die at a very young age. I was able to have after death communications with all five of them. My experience with them led to experiences with strangers living and 'dead.'
